How many 87 Iroc were made that came with a 5.7 tpi and 5 speed manual transmission
They did not make a 5.7 irock 5 speed. That would have been a special order car
They made a hi output 305 tpi 5 speed iroc
I have a 1987 5 speed 305 TPI, no T Tops Dark Red. 60k original miles.
Chevy released a few special order cars that were not available to the regular public. I know 50 cars were released in 86 that had the 5.7 350 engine with 220 hp and there was also a small number of cars in 87 with the 5.7 350 engine that were a 5 speed standard all of these cars had to be a.c. delete, radio delete, no ttops and specially ordered.
Chevy NEVER sold a 350 3rd gen with a manual transmission. EVER!!!
Yes, The manual transmission was paired with the 305, never the 350, but your question about TPI is YES, the 305 was also offered in a TPI, I have a 1987
There were 5.7s with 5 speeds made but they were special order cars outside the normal avenue of special ordering. They were for lack of a better term, hidden from the publilc.
Believe it or not I happen to own one of these special order cars. Unfortunately I never drive it because I’m afraid of someone hitting it and it never being the same. Mine came from New Jersey, 5.7 , 5 speed, T-Top car. I’m the third owner as it was originally from South Carolina and belonged to a GM executive. Please email me if you have any questions about the car, I’ll answer them best I can. Flywithavt@avtdrones.com

I have my 86 iroc z28 that I am trying to bring back to life and it is a 5speed with t-tops and a 350 5.7l small block and have another 86 as well as a 91 that one of them is going to have a 350 small block LS motor that was originally designed for the 69 Camaro SS but I don't have any other ideas about the car i own 3 and yes gm primarily sold the 305 v8 however the fellas are still correct on the 350 5speed model cause they also released a small number of specialty models that were fitted with a 350 5.7L high output performance edition small block and it was completed with the twin vented hood t-tops side skirts and a lowered chassis that was driven by a 5 speed manual transmission so you all initially right in your own way but I have been doing research on the Camaro all my life its my dream car and I have a nonexistent car that you so claimed but the car and 350 tpi are in my driveway and ur welcome to come out and see how wrong you are and I am sure that my bitchin car will take an apology in the way of u kissing my bumper have a great day and drive easy
I have an 85 iroc z28 with t-tops,5 speed manual trans, and a crate 350 ho, 26,212 miles on body, 2284 on motor
I know for fact they made an 88 Iroc Z rag top 5 speed manual with 5.7 liter ( 350 ) because my brother special ordered it.

I currently own a rare 88 Iroc-Z T-top with the 305 tbi mated with the BW 5speed and rear drum 3:08posi (non G-92) w/front and rear sway bar including the wonder bar...140mph gauge package...AC still works great...later will swap to a 350 and change the injectors to suit the 350-tbi
I lived in Camaro City USA ( Google Christmas in East Haven) and I never heard of or saw a (stock) third gen f-body with the tpi 350 and a 5-speed.
My dad had a 87 iroc z 5.7 tpi 5 speed t-tops. I've never seen another one like it..
I have one 1987 camaro 5 speed
What about the 1989 manual hard top,was it a 5 speed? Is this a rare model?
1987 is iroc 20th annaversary edition and yes they produced 5.7 with 5 speeds if 8t says iroc z at front of doors it's the tpi 305 if decals are original and our on the rear of doors it the 5.7 liter 350
Sticker placement had nothing to do with engine size. All IROC stickers were moved to the rear of the door after 87.
The did have an IROC Z28 with 5 speed and T-Tops it has a 350 TPI these motors were used in the Corvette when Corvette found out about it they had Chevrolet stop using the 350 TPI and in 1986 you could only get 305 TPI starting in 1987 the 350 TPI return until the end of the 3 third gen.

Just to let people know, The reason GM did not offer the T5 with the 350 was because the 350 torque was higher then the transmission was rated for. I worked at a Chevy dealers 1986-90 and I remember having a conversation with a sales manager that told me if he could get 350/ 5 speeds he said he could sell 5 today but he could not. See GM bought the transmission with the agreement the vender would pay for warranty repair. Had they put that transmission in a 350 car that would Void the vendors responsibility. If GM did install one T5 in a production 350 they would have to prove to then vendor every time one of those T5 broke it was not in a 350 cars. One thing that is not well known GM did offer a T56 reto kit for the 350 automatic 3rd gens in 1993. That is how bad people wanted them. If you could have ordered them then why would some pay 5K to have their car converted?
