HOW MANY 1988 IROC CONVERTIBLES WERE MADE IN BLACK WITH A 5 SPEED

As far as I know there were no convertibles made with a 5-speed. You can look further online using the RPO # 1FP87. There were only 3,761 in total produced that year. Hope that helps ya a bit.

never heard of a factory V8 convertable or T-top 5 speed. Something with The body not twisting from the increased torque and structural points and all that crap. But lots of cars could be special ordered. Run numbers and find out.

GM did make 88; convertibles with 5 speed, maybe a 100 or so, I have one

There were 5 speed 1988 convertible IROCs made. Mine has the G92 code, i wonder how many were made that way? I suspect it is rare but how rare? Mine all original with 22.7k miles.

I also have a 1988 IROC-Z convertible, TPI 305, 5 speed, and G92 performance axle with 3.45 gears, G80 posi, and J65 four wheel disc brakes. 65k miles. I love reading the replies to these and wonder why people even bother replying to something that they have zero clue about....ugh. FWIW, the G92, 5 speed IROC-Z convertibles were only built for the 1987 and 1988 model years. 1989 and 1990 G92, 5 speeds are hardtop only...not even t-tops. On that note, later build 89 model G92, 5 speeds came with the N10 dual cat exhaust, upping the horsepower of the LB9 TPI 305 to 230hp. The 220 hp version was not a convertible thing like someone mentioned above. It was a 5 speed thing. The 5 speed cars got a bigger camshaft...in fact, the same exact camshaft that the L98 TPI 350 got. That's where the few extra hp came from. And, those cars also got a different tach than the normal TPI 305. The normal 305 got the 5,000 rpm redline tach, where the 220hp AND 230hp TPI 305 cars got the 5,500 rpm tach.

I own a 1989 RS convertible 5 speed. The 305 TBI only feels like 185 HP, but it has the 3:08 gear ratio, which doesn’t make it much of a”parade” car. It’s fun car to drive with a highway MPG 24.5. It’s a head turner at car shows with the crowd that grew up with those cars. What ever the numbers are, it’s got 61,200 miles on the odometer and Runs great yet. It could use a new top because it’s got the pinch marks on the top and a fresh paint job. Garage kept and not a snowmobile.
