If it was NOT an SS than it came with a 10 bolt open rear, 10 bolt posi rears were optional. All SS cars or cars with 396 engines or larger came with 12 bolt rears, open or posi.

the gear ratio varied with the tranny ,automatics usually had lower gear ratio than 3 or 4 speeds
