Did any 1970 Chevelle SS have a CKO automatic motor?

Asked by buffalogirl May 02, 2014 at 12:39 PM about the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle

Question type: General

I recently purchased a car on ebay, sight unseen. the vin is 136370K154374, however the number on the engine block are- T10211CKO AND 10K124304. The vin does not match the engine, which is 396L78 (402). Was the CKO only a 4 speed manaul? My car is an automatic with a CKO motor. It was repainted red, not cranberry red for that year. I still have to check the other numbers cowl, axle, casting  etc. Was that CKO motor put into my chevelle ss and it should've been manual? It is very confusing . Any info I would greatly appreciate.
