Has anyone place an aftermarket 3 speed auto shifter (B&M, Hurst, etc.) in a 69 camaro with a center console?

I don't find any that will fit the factory console except for 73-81 cars.  I was looking at the B&M Quicksilver since I have a TH400 with no shifting valve body and liked the rachet action.  Just not sure if anyone has tried to fit one in the stock console with maybe some trimming.  Any help would be appreciated! James

I put a console model in my 74 Camaro.fit great and worked great! I don't know of a direct fit model for the 69 though.The Quicksilver is a good shifter.Well made and passed tech at the dragstrip I raced at. I have seen where people removed the console and bolted a non-console shifter right to the floor.This looks ungainly,but keeps butchering to a minimum.With close fitting carpeting,it doesn't look too bad.I would dearly love for them to re-release the his and hers for my 85 camaro.maybe someday!
