Starter Question

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 / F250 6.0 diesel.  My question is this.  The starter just went bad and I was quoted labor and part (remanufactured) at 371 and was told that a new starter was $600.00.  I researched and found that only MOPAR was that high.  DOES it make that much of a difference of the brand name for the starter.  I am aware, especially with the 6.0 diesel, that fuel filters need to be MOPAR, but what about the starter.. Yes, the MOPAR is the champion, BUT, on a budget my question is whether or not it makes a huge difference.  Thank you.
