Where is the remote door lock control antenna located in the car?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The remote unlock function only works from time to time and from closer and far
away at different times. It used to work all of the time and from 50 feet away, not
anymore. I'm thinking to replace the unit if I can find it.

Thanks, yes. Replaced batteries and bought new fob. Same results. What is strange is that sometimes I have to press fob button many times while standing at drivers door and once in a while it will work on the first press and once in a great while it will work from a distance. Sometimes it will not work at all and I have to use the key.
I was having the same issue with my 2011 Escape. I just found out that it was my phone charger. I keep my car charger plugged into the outlet all the time and my fob would only work when I was standing next to the driver's door. I just went out and unplugged my charger and tried it from about 40 feet and it worked!

Hi Craig Same thing here very low range on my keyfob , after reading your suggestion did turned off the FM sender with the built in charger noticed that the range come upp as usual upp to 25 meter Thanks for your advice
Take your fob key play sit right underneath your chin and press the lock or unlock button and it will work of the 50 feet away your brain is an antenna and I learned this from a dealership that dealt with fob keys everyday.
