Is the fuel pump suppose to run all the time or do it cut out

Fuel pump running all the time

Runs for a few seconds at the time you turn switch to on position to prime and build pressure. Then goes off until it needs to build pressure again after its cranked. So yes it does cut off when there is pressure enough to crank it.
