I have a 6 cylinder 2007 Ford Explorer. Recently, the engine has started revving while losing power towards the top of steep hills. Also, the front cargo light comes on for no reason, then fades off. Do you have any ideas why these things are happening? I tried looking through my owner's manual, but haven't been successful finding answers.

I already had the fluid checked at Oil Can Henry's and it was fine. Any other ideas?

I really sounds like the fluid is low in the tranny. The engine revs as it should but you loose power to the rear wheels on a steep hill. Sounds like when the vehicle is on a steep incline the fluid in the pan is settling to the back. Do you have the same problem on level driving?

I don't have the same problem on level ground. Thanks, I'll have someone look at it. Also, the interior light comes on occasionally for no reason and the driver side door lock and automatic window buttons sometimes don't work. Any ideas?

If for some reason the transmission filter fell out then it could cause the problem that you have. It really sounds like it is sucking air.

The other problems you are having sound like an electrical problem in the drivers door.
