This link will take you to GM's info page on airbags and airbag safety.
Sorry, I forgot to paste the link in the first response. http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/safety/protect_occupants/air_bags/questions/questions_how_work3.html
30 km/h is the speed when the airbag deploys for every car in north america, as far as I know... I would hate it if my airbag gets deployed if i hit a wall by accident while parking (wich will hopefully never happen)...
if you were to hit a solid object such as a brick wall. than the airbag would deploy at 15mph
Airbag speeds are correct. ABS will lock up for only a fraction of a second before releasing then it repeats until you come off the pedal, this should be common. If it doesn't do that, then get it checked, the system is probably malfunctioning.
15 to 25 mph,abs has nothing to do with the air bag system.
My air bags did not deploy at 55 miles an hour after I struck a retaining wall than I was knocked into the middle of the highway and hit by another car head on as well.
my camaro hit the wall backwards at about 35 mph.. airbags did not deploy. sensors should have worked on your head-on collision.
Yes you would have thought so on 2 head on collisions in a matter of minutes. The bumper is totally gone.
wow, TWO! i just hope u are ok.your sensors totally failed, yikes. :( mine was a backwards slide.
I was in a accident where the guy was going 70 in a 35 he hit me on my rear quarter panel in a gmc Acadia. I have side airbags but they never went off and my daughter that was in the 3rd row middle seat banged her head off of something. Shouldn't the airbags of gone off?

My son was driving a swift at a speed of 40 km per hour and hit with a tree. N bth air bags were in this accident. Is it possible to open the airbags at such a average speed.
