My 2007 HHR is getting not good mileage and I've had the cat checked. No ck engine lights are on. What do I check next?

What is "not good mileage" what type of driving do you do? I would do a tuneup and filter change, check the tire pressure and maybe put some good fuel system cleaner in the tank for starters.

I did that as well. Other people have told me they are getting 35ish around here. I usually get on the high end of estimated mpg. Not much stop and start. I'm getting 19-20. If it was at least 25, I'd figure it was fine.

The EPA mileage is only about 19 City, 28 highway depending on how it is equipped so I would take claims of 35 mpg with a grain of salt. Most people don't know how to accurately calculate mileage.
