Can you turn it off on the dash, will it turn off? The button by the head light switch. So does the car always run bad now?
No my Button does not turn off
I had the same problem and what Idid was to replace both rotors and if you look there is a switch on each side and problem solve.
hi, I just had the light come on with the message on the dashboard that the "traction system has to be checked". I replaced my rotors a few months ago and I have not had any issues until not. What switch should I be looking for? Thanks for the help
How does changing your rotors make your engine run bad? Mt 07 silverado started having this same issue.
I'm having the same problem. Diagnosed my 2006 chevy impala 3.5 my first issue was it was misfiring from cylinder 2. Now after driving it, i am getting a service traction control. After reading your posts i think my rotors on the front have to do something with it cause they started making a noise while driving. And my check engine went away as soon as i stopped driving.
Will look into it tommorow, i fixed the misfire btw.

Ive been having the same problem!!! First they told me to get some kind of sensor.. Then it ran good for a day.. Now there saying replace gas pedal?????
Having the same problem. I turned the traction control off, now it wont come back on, same message, service traction control system. Car still runs fine though, could it be a fuse?
I changed my camshaft magnet and spark plugs also they changed some kind of oil switch and the traction control light and check engine light still are on and it still runs bad .
Same problem they told me it's my bearing in the wheel

You might need to change the ebcm ( electronic brake control module) $200 acdelco part for my 2007 impala SS. I had same problem
I have an 07 impala and the 'service traction control' light came on in conjunction with the 'engine power reduced' message on the dash and being unable to get the car to go faster than maybe 30 mph + the 'chugging' people are talking about. We tried changing the pedals and the throttle body and that didn't help. brought it to the small dealer i bought it from and it turned out to be the 'secondary air injection check valve' or the 'air injection reactor check valve' one of those two. had that replaced the first time and it fixed the problem for a few months, then the part failed and i had it replaced again and it worked for close to a year. i'm here because it's happened for a third time and i was hoping to find more info. maybe my part failed again. hope this helps someone.
Same thing happens periodically with my Dads Impala not sure the year. sometimes if you go over railroad tracks. the other day the slick Road light kept coming on when making left hand turns. most of the time having to break then if I hit the gas making the turn it would come on. Today same thing happened but was making a right that light stayed on, traction control light came on, and ABS Light came on. when I started the car back up after leaving my destination. backed up everything went off, but the slick road or whatever that light is came on again for a second. There are some spots where gravel may be in the road and you are making a turn going up an incline when it does that. Just weird. My Guess was something is going bad or is not in alignment on the left front of the car, like the tire is old or something.
O7 IMPALA LS (3500 v6) *SERVICE TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM *SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL *SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST *ABS light all three of these came on after my abs light came on still runs the same and runs good but how do I fix it I already know it needs break work and my air tire pressure reset on the dash but could this be what affects it or could it possible be the fact I don't have an e brake

I have a 2010 Impala LTZ and had the same problem with traction control off and reduced engine power.........after researching, I found there is a Recall on this model Impala and has to do with ignition switch.......took it to dealer with the recall info and haven’t had that problem again......this was 2 years ago.
It is a Chevy. Buy anything other than a Chevy, should fix the issue.
I have a 2007 impala with the 3.9 V6. I have now had the oil pressure sensor code being thrown as the problem. I'm waiting on part for that, but in wondering if the oil pressure sensor will stop the other lights from coming in. There is no other codes coming from machine, but the warning light for traction control and the "stop engine, oil pressure low" is also coming up. The car runs really bad when the traction control warning light comes on. I see a lot of people having this issue. I will let you know if it fixes mine, when the part arrives tomorrow.
