Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I was just wondering if a 1979 Ford bronco had a check engine light so you
can get codes out of it. Thanks

Your truck would have had the EEC II system, EEC I and II were essentially the same, by 1980 there were replaced by EECIII. You can google a "how to" on reading an EEC II code. EEC II is a rudimentary system, not sure any codes it could offer would be much use, it mostly deals with the smog motor/EGR and VV carb. It's possible to read EECIII and EECIV codes in diagnostic mode by counting the flashes on the CEL, not sure if that can be done with the older EECII. There is no code reader, per se, for reading that system.
