Many engines fit capris. The 2.9 is virtually a straight swap if you're starting with a 2.8, the zetec is also pretty simple. The "small block" 5.0 v8 ford engine will also go in, as have chevy and Rover V8s. Beyond that, the engine bay is massive so most stuff will fit if you know how

pretty well any engine you can afford to put in. there are swap kits available to go as large as 460 and obviously any stroker variant of that engine. that said the easiest swap without having to buy a lot of special parts is probably the 351(5.8) windsor since it's essentially a tall 302(5.0), using the same bellhousing, motor mounts,transmission, heads and many accessories.
