What kind of Comet is it ?

Been told it is a 1962 Mercury Comet. I'm still new at this but i never saw one like it, is it rare or something..?

Hi! That car is not a Comet. It's Ford Capri Coupe build in England (Mercury in Usa/Canada)

Spot on wpc195858, this is indeed a 1960's Ford Consul Capri based on the Cosul Classic 2 door saloon. The front end has been heavily modified I should imagine to take a large 'v' block as these cars were originaly fitted with an in-line straight four 1500cc.
