The new power steering pump I just installed does not work.

Asked by tntullis Nov 26, 2014 at 08:33 PM about the 2006 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just installed a new PS pump in my 2006 Honda Accord without a glitch.  Before I
started the engine I made sure the PS fluid reservoir was slightly overfilled (With Honda
PS fluid) to compensate for the new pump.  I started the car, checked the fluid level, it
never moved -- I immediately shut the engine off.  Engine run time --- 15 secs.  If the
pump isn't picking up the oil from the reservoir.  Whats my next move?

Just off the top of my head, I think you're supposed to crank the steering wheel all the way to the left and then the right and that should force the air out
