Recently replaced the alternator on my 2001 Chevy S-10 pick up. Volt meter says the battery is charging up just as it should, but my battery light on the dash continues to come on for several seconds/up to a minute and then go off for up to a minute, then back on again etc. Everything seems to be functioing properly, but it sure would be great to have that light working as it should since it coming on was what alerted me to the need for a new alternator in the first place. 1 Answer

Was rolling in 5th gear going 60, heard aloud screeching noise and it threw us forward in the seat and slowed it immediately to about 40.I pulled off to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the truck.I looked around and couldn't see anything visibly wrong.I started it up again just fine and started rolling in 1st gear, then I tried to shift to 2nd the truck just stopped and wouldn't go into any gear.At this point the truck will start but when I let the clutch out, it dies(in neutral). Had to remove my drive shaft to be towed on towrope because it wouldn't roll smooth in neutral. When the engine is running now I don't feel any vibration through the gearshift anymore like how I used to before it broke down. What could it be? 3 Answers

I have a 1987 Chevy Pickup with a crate engine. I start it and it runs for about 15 -20 seconds and then shuts off. I have replace the air intake hoses, fuel lines, fuel filter. When it was turned on then started to idle low i dumped gas into it and it shut off immediately. Could it be getting too much gas? Would that mean the carb is clogged possibly? 4 Answers

My 1995 Chevy s10 is overheating once a day? I start the truck I let it idle for a min or so. Then take off. Usually about 5 mile down. It starts to over heat so I stop. Turn off key. Turn bac on. Then the temp is low enough to take off. It won't overheat at all the rest of the day. But the next morning same thing. I have replaced thermostats, thinking bad one. I have put radiator fluid in. Flushed the system. I got so mad at it. That I bought new motor. It stopped for a couple of months. Then started the same thing. 9 Answers
