I have a 98 chevrolet 4x4 truck (5.7). The 2 and 4wd buttons dont light up, niether does it go in 4wd. The 4x4 fuse pops when I replace it. Can someone lead me in the right direction

If the fuse keeps popping then you probly have a break in one of the wiring harnesses or somthing of that kind of nature
Not just a break but the power wire between the fuse and the 4X4 module is also touching a ground source. The module could be internally shorted also. You will have to get a wiring diagram and trace the wires and find where the break is. Once you repair the break the 4X4 will start working again. You can put a light bulb in place of the fuse so you will know once it turns off, you found the break. To check and see if its one of the modules you can put your light bulb in place of the fuse and unplug the modules that fuse feeds. If the light goes out then its the module or the break is very close to that plug.
