The 6.5 is a diesel, it would take a good bit of modification to got from a 5.7 to the 6.5. There are better diesels out there. A simpler swap is the newer 5.3 or 6.0. They have way more power out of the box and more potential. Go for the 5.3 if you want a good driver, great medium between power and mpg. If you want a play toy go for the 6.0. Neither of them will "bolt in" but are very popular swaps. Has far as bolt in, you have the best stock 5.7 you can get.

as far as a 6.5 it can be done without any real modification, i just ran my truck thru my k3500 thru a pole and dont plan on doing anything with it till it gets warm, but in the meantime id like to put the 6.5 in the suburban n havent really been able to read about or find anything thats goin to pose a real problem, the only thing that sucks is im starting with a 1500 so... but i do have enough stuff layin around i should b able to get something together im sure its goin to require a trip or 2 to the parts store of course but honestly its a bolt in swap with All the right parts, no adapters
