A 4.3L v-6 has the same bolt pattern as the v-8. Anything you want but your tranny will be the weak spot. The question is will you be keeping the stock ECM with efi or will you gut the electronics and run a carb? A '94 1/2 ton should have the 4L60-e with stand alone TCM. I would not put more than 295 hp through it (stock 350 w/ tbi) If you plan to upgrade the tranny a 454 will slide in there with no major mod's and a chip in the ECM to control the stock efi w/ larger injectors. Let me know your plan and target power and I can point you in the right direction.

Personally with a 2wd I would stay with a small block to keep the weight down. GM's ZZ383 is claimed at 425 hp? But not cheap. There are many companies that biuld good high powered small blocks. The motor in my profile pic is a 383 stroker (350 with 400 crank) installed in a 82 s-10, that thing moves (Prob 400+ hp with the dart wedge heads) but blew our built turbo 350 tranny. She's waiting for a turbo 400 or 4L80e.

Question. Would a 440 or 383 fit in their as well? I'm 14 and bought the same truck and want to put more power under the hood from my vortec v6 with 300,000km
A Dodge engine? Not really. Install a big block Chevy if you want a hot rod. A 502/502 crate engine would be sweet.
