95 S-10 Blazer Automatic Trans. Parking gear no longer functions. Still drives ok. Can I get by for a while driving like that, only using the parking brake to secure the vehicle from rolling?

Well, do use parking brake and if on any incline turn wheels to curb and if it were me I would get a chock, and use it when parked until fixed. there is a thing called a pawl in the transmission, that locks it in Park. Might be sheared off.

Yes I understand the Prawl is sheared off. Not knowing what is in the proximity of sheared prawl, can I continue to drive this vehicle until I can arrange for repair, or replacement? (or is there other moving parts in the vicinity that it may interfere with?)

mjwicker91 That I can't answer with any certainty. It is indeed a loose piece of steel, somewhere in transmission. Could have dropped to bottom of pan, and do no harm. No promises.

Yeah, tough call, agreed. The picture speaks 1000 words of advice anyhow. THANKS!
Most likely it's in the bottom of the pan. If it wasn't you would already figured out, lol. If you want to then drop the pan and do a fluid/filter change. Look for it in the pan when you drop it

PROBLEM SOLVED! The Shift cable Bracket bolts (2) were (1) loose and (1) missing. Cable could not throw the lever into Park. Installed new bolts. Working just fine now. Thanks for your help anyhow.
