The relay is getting power and the fuel pump pumps fuel after I force it to start but it floods

Hi i have a chevy s10 1999. The fuel level gage os not working and the fuel pump is new. I dont have the 5 volt at the purple wire. Thanks
You may want to check the ignition switch control module under the key switch too. It may wiggle loose and the pins don’t make the proper connection. This will make the pump fail to engage electrically. Usually you will notice the lights on the dash don’t light up either.
Hello I have a s10 1999 I put a new fuel pump in still the same promble it starts up some times and it runs a little bit then turns off it sale and some times give it gas and stays runing
Check ground bolt, located drivers side rear in the frame. Should be two wires grounded there, rear lights and fuel pump.
As alan stated...my ground bolt was loose after removing old bed.....this issue stumped me, check relay, check voltage at pump, recharged battery..was pissed thought i would need new $200 pump.....THANKS ALAN
