I have a 94 Chev Silverado 350 ci. Have replaced the starter/solonoid, the cables, good batt. Still getting the solenoid click. Have to try a couple times then it starts regular. What could be causing this problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have replaced everything having to do with a solonoid clicking, starter, solenoid, battery,
cables.  Why does the solenoid still click before engaging?

Did you check out the grounds? One is grounded on engine block stater and battery terminal.

I did say I replaced the cables. What else could it be?

Well just for shits N giggles try starting the car up while someone taps on the starter. Old trick that works. If it does you know its the pinion gear isn't engaging properly. If it still clicks and nothing happens while your tapping not banging the starter try putting the car in gear and rock it back and forth. Idk some reason it works too.

did you truly change and clean ground cable contacts and ground point on your colenoiod ground?
