First what year is your truck? The 1950 Chevy Pickup truck has a designation of 3100, 3200 and so forth. The C/K Silverado came quite a bit later. If it is a 1950 six cylinder, have the carburetor checked. It may be a bad float in the unit itself. It also may be a broken or lose wire connection on the coil or distributor. Any forward motion may cause a wire to come disconnected and cut the power to the spark plugs. Make sure all the connections in the distributor are solid. Can it be re-started after it quits? If so, I'd bet on a bad wire connection in the ignition system. These old guys are so simple to work on. No computers, just go.

Thank you so much. My husband said he thought it might be the coil. My finger hit a wrong key, it's a 1990 not a 1950. But the problem should be about the same. Thanks again
