I have a 5 speed standerd transmission in a Chevy
1991, S-10 . ... What kind of . ...
My question is . ... What kind of oil do I use ? ...

The 1500 and 2500 were used mainly in small v6 and 4 cylinder vehicles. The nv3500 was used for large v6 and small v8 equipped vehicles, the nv4500 is a heavy duty trans used for the larger v8's (these are all 5 speeds transmissions)..depending on your engine size - transmissions are different but as you can see this website (http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/transmission-fluid/manual/manual-synchromesh-transmission-fluid-5w-30/?page=%2fstorefront%2fmtf.aspx), tells you which oil is used for what engine..so if your s10 is 4 cyl or 6 cyl, you can use this type of oil, IT MUST BE SYNCHROMESH..
