Do you mean the NEG.? Always the negative cable...
As an engineer I have always regarded disconnecting the Positive or "Supply" being preferable over the Negative based on the effect induction has on a collapsing field ... In reality .. it make little/no difference in a car so ... whatever floats your boat
Thank you for that, I was taught that you disconnect the neg. So the collapsing field will run to ground verses generating a voltage spike?
In many complex systems it's preferable to remove the supply due to current flow through diodes and capacitors. If you recall the early days of engines with "points" the negative (ground) was broken through the points to induce voltage through the coil ... so engineers favored breaking the negative for induction.

in my Toyota Solara 1999 3.0l, can someone tell me where is the ground cable.??? Not the one from the battery, the one how goes from the engine block to the chassis.!
If you can not find it, just put one on there from the engine to the chassis.
