4x4 bind up
Hi I bought a 05 4x4 Tacoma . I am new to
4x4 and have been intermittently using 4x4
on wet/icy roads. I have felt it lock up when
parking but no popping. I know now when
to use the 4x4 correctly but am wondering
if I could have caused damage ? It still
enters 4x4 without issue but was
wondering if there is anything else I should
be looking for ? Feeling a little stupid thx :)

Sounds like you are ok, turning sharper on pavement in 4-wheel drive you will experience a binding so to speak. Not recommended running 4x4 on pavement, but I think you figured that out.
I can qualify myself by telling you I have had a Ford F250 since 1973, and still have a 1976 of same. Done a lot of off-roading. I see you have been instructed, or practiced 4X4 driving. My suggestions are: Do not turn the steering wheel all the way to the stops when in 4X4. Only use 4X4 when necessary, snow/ice, but then again don't be hesitant to use it. It is a great feature. I have manual locking hubs that are a real pain to have to get out and lock/unlock them, modern trucks like your Tacoma you don't have to hassle that. On clean, dry pavement using 4X4 is inadvisable, especially for things like parking. But I doubt very much any damage was done, but doing that repeatedly eventually will Happy New Year! ~~David
