Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have used it very little in the last 2 years. Last November tried to start it and it did not start. Bought a new battery. Worked fine. tried to start it today and no luck. jumped it and it started. Let It run for about 10-15 minutes. Turned it off and it would not start. Jumped it again drove it around for about 30 miles. Ran great. pulled in the driveway. Turned it off and it would not start. Any ideas?

It could be the battery not holding a charge. Even though it's new, they can go bad (have bad cells) etc. If you bought it from a auto parts store or dealership, they usually have a warranty on the battery. Have them check it. (O'Rileys does this with a computer free of charge, just hook it up and can tell you if it's good or not.) The other thing I'm thinking it could be would be the alternator. It may be bad, but if you charged the battery, it should be able to start right up immediately.

You battery will only charge at 5 amps, no matter how low discharged or engine rpm.
