How do I fix my car from turning off?

Asked by itswilliam Aug 02, 2013 at 11:06 AM about the 1998 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car randomly turns off while I'm driving, mainly at a red light or while I am slowing
down. I have been to many mechanics which have told me to replace coils, leads, spark
plugs, fuel pump and fuel filter which I have done so? My car has been working prefectly
fine for a month but the problem has once again started to reoccur.

Sounds like either dirty throttle body, idle air control valve faulty or dirty or egr valve dirty or faulty(stuck in open position). These are the the items that I would check first.
