- PO758 B and PO401 what do they mean and how
do I fix my car?

P0401 TOYOTA - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected...Possible causes; EGR passage clogged, Faulty EGR Vacuum Modulator Valve Faulty, EGR Valve Faulty, EGR solenoid valve EGR solenoid valve harness is open or shorted, EGR solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection, Dead (Weak) battery, Faulty EGR temperature sensor and circuit, Exhaust gas leaks...EGR flow malfunction could be caused by a clogged EGR valve or EGR tube. Before replacing any parts try cleaning the EGR valve, tube and passages... - Low EGR flow control is detected, Possible symptoms; Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light), Possible engine hesitation... P0401 TOYOTA Description. Early Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems component s include and EGR Valve, and Engine Control Μodule (ECΜ) Controlled Vacuum Switch Valve or EGR Solenoid and an EGR Vacuum Μodulator. Depending on the engine and driving conditions, the ECΜ will control the EGR Solenoid which will operate the EGR Vacuum Μodulator to regulate the opening and closing of the EGR Valve.......P0758 TOYOTA - Shift Solenoid 'B' Electrical Malfunction...Possible causes; Low transmission fluid level, Dirty transmission fluid, Faulty shift solenoid 'B' valve, Shift solenoid 'B' valve harness or connectors, Shift solenoid 'B' valve circuit is open or shorted,,,The P0758 code is detected when the gear required by the ECM does not match the actual gear when vehicle is driven. Possible symptoms Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Transmission will not shift gears... P0758 TOYOTA Description... Shift solenoid valve 'B' is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position.

You need a new pcm and a $9 vacuum modulator from ebay.The modulator diaphragm is ripped causing egr insufficient flow it is also sucking transmission fluid into the modulator vacuum line coming from the tranny.You should see some form of white smoke coming from the tailpipe and your tranny fluid will not be full which causes all those wacky codes,The ecu is probably beat.Without getting crazy just take my advice this problem is often misdiagnosed 95% or more just trust me anymone reading this.The trans solenoids are fine.See my pic you’ll understand how I know this
