96 Avalon Rear Struts

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Just changed the struts on the rear of my 96 Avalon. Now it makes clanking/clicking noises in the rear when I go over a bump or turn a corner. The same thing happened with my son's 98 Camry. What would you suggest I check?

Did you check out the strut mounts? Or did you change those too.
Changed out the strut mounts too. Don't know where it's coming from.
Does the steering play at all? Drives straight?
No play in the steering and it does drive straight. No abnormal wear on the tires, either.
Try the links....i had a 95 and now 98....notorious for that.

I've got the same car, and the same problem but on all four wheels. I'm going after all the bushings. I seem to have a problem finding the correct size though. Before you buy some take a dial caliper to your sway bars and check the size. They are supposed to be 15mm, but mine are way bigger.
