Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 1996 Toyota Camry will not start. When I turn the key on I get a spark out
of the plug wires. But when I turn it over I get no spark. I have replaced the
ignitor and put a used distributor in it. after replacing the ignitor the car
cranked and ran fine for 1 week. now it will not crank at all. also i bought a
used ignitor.

What Engine in this Vehicle? "now it will not crank at all"...does that mean it sounds like the battery is dead...not even a "Click" from the Starter Motor? If this is a Ignition Distributor Engine...my guess is the "crank" signal is coming from the pick up coils inside the Dist. Some of these Toyota Dist. could have 3(Three) signals inside. A wiring diagram for this Make/Model/Year AND Engine Code would definitely answer this question.
Yes, the 96 2.2 engine has a crank sensor. http://www.justanswer.com/toyota/533gp-crank-sensor-located- 1996-toyota-camry-2.html
We're is the crankshaft sensor located on the 1996 engine
Dayontal.....If the engine has Distributor Ignition....the Crank Sensor is inside that Dist. It is sometimes referred to as a Pick up Coil. What is the problem with your vehicle?
