How i know that the Overdrive is On or Off, what is the sign for On and Off in the switchboard?

what is the job of overdrive? and how i can understand that the overdrive is on or Off? I mean is there any sign for On and Off in the switch boared or no?

I had a 1996 Corolla. It was a 3 speed automatic. It didnt have overdrive.

Overdrive is extra gear Switch schould be 0n side of shifter Od is dash Ight. Leave od on light goes off.unless you need power for hills 3rd gear has more. Power 4 th is for speed
