Electronically Controlled Transmission. This button gives you extra power when passing, climbing hills, etc. Overdrive is used only when driving at highway speeds on flat surfaces -- this will save you fuel economy but the transmission will "hunt" for the right gear if you use it on short drives climbing hills, etc. This is harder on the trans. as it increases the heat in the transmission.
