Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driving along and stop at a stop sign and go to take off from there and the car dies and won't start. Not battery and it sounds like it might not be firing.  Spark plus? Rotor?  I tried the turning the toggle switch for the alarm system.  I didn't work.  Tried starting it in neutral and didn't start.  Called my husband and we towed it back to our house.

Check for a bad fuel pump first. Take off your gas cap. Have your husband put his ear to the gas inlet. You turn the key to the accessory position. Your husband should hear the fuel pump hum for a few seconds. If he doesn't hear a hum, you either have a bad fuel pump relay or the fuel pump died. If he hears a hum, you will want him to pull a plug wire and check for spark. Post back with findings......
