Happens when engines get wet. When it's dry your problem should solve itself. I know on my 87 MR2 I had to remove the center cover between the valve covers and soak up a puddle of water with a rag. After wards the car ran fine.

If you installed a cold air intake, change are there is some water inside it. Not good.
