1953 belair v8 conversion.

hi i was wounding if i could swap my motorfrom 6cy to a v8 from a later year
belair (its a 56). but still use my standard manual transmission. i know may
sound silly but i live in ireland and this type of work is practically unknown of
any help would be great thanks. also parts cost. thanks any help would be
great

So you want to install the 265 cu in (4,340 cc) V8? Sure you can do this, you really won't or don't need help you can check pricing, along with interchange items via the internet! very easy..This is a little be of research not very much, spring rates, motor mounts, all the changes from 6 cylinder to V8 But really for '54 first gen to 56 things are basic and grade you can just about mount the 265 in there and be Ok , IT might weight less than the 6 cylinder! Or i can offer you a '57 belair 283.. Regards
