Question type: Car Customization

Hello,
I got Chevrolet BelAir 1973 with 250 R6 engine, and manual transmission.
I want to put 350 V8 engine, and automatic transmission.
What engine and transmission will be easier to install in my car?

Any small block would basically drop in, and you can find them ANYWHERE. Mine's out of a school bus from 1974. Depending on your budget, you can go with anything from a TH350 (3-speed) TH400 (4-speed) or a 700R4 (with overdrive)

HOLY CRAP do NOT do THAT. A small HANDFUL of '73 Bel Airs came through with a 6 cyl and 3 speed. They were the LAST full size Chevies to be equipped as such. I've only seen ONE in 30 years. I'd be willing to bet there are maybe 3 or left on the planet and the demo derby morons are always looking for big Chevies. Can you post a photo of it??

Your Answer:

Bel Air
