Does anyone have or have pictures of the door lock rod for the key to lock

Asked by Guru9FLLH Jul 22, 2017 at 04:06 PM about the 1958 Chevrolet Delray

Question type: General

Need rods for key to locking mechanism for my 58, 2 door Delray. Can't find them. If any one has a picture I could possibly fabricate them.
Thanks

The opposite door on your 1958 Delray would likely have the same rod and you could fabricate a copy from that. Sounds like a really cool car.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately neither side had the rods some thing I found out after locking the car up. The locks are working but no interconnection to the key. Thanks

Had the same issue. GM used 1957 U-pawl locks on the base model Delrays. The back of the lock has two angled prongs (U-pawl) that connect with a tab on the latch when the key is turned. The only rods are for the inside door handle and the inside door lock. Danchuks have the 1957 locks.
