Asked by Hendrika Mar 17, 2008 at 11:25 AM about the 1988 Toyota Camry

Question type: General

This is the first time in the 5 years that I won this 4 door toyota camary 6 cyl. and when I started the car this a.m., an orange light on the built in dash transmission display: "P R N D 2 1" below the number "2" is the orange light that says "O/D Off"  why is this now lit and never before.  Personally, this car has been a hunk of junk to me from day one.  For all the money I have soaked into this car, I could probably have bought my self a semi w/trailer attached.  Please help and am I harming the car?

There should be a button on or near the shifter that says "overdrive" or "O/D", press it, it will turn the overdrive feature back on

The OD Off is not a problem, you likely just hit a button turning it off. OD button should be on the shifter knob, I believe.
