Can a 454 7.4L fit into a 1984 Chevy Caprice and manage with the stock transmission?

The transmission that comes with 454 is a short tail 350 turbo- you're gonna need that. Definitely. OR you will burn the trans and the rear end up at the same damn time #futureVoice. Good luck.

The engine bay will accommodate the 454 Big Block, but the OE transmission will NEVER hold up to the torque! Especially if it's a THM200! GM decided to be especially frugal with their car manufacturing practices in the 1980s and put the THM200, which was designed to mate with a 4 cylinder engine, into virtually every car they made, regardless the size. That decision is why one could no longer tow even something as small as a snowmobile trailer behind any GM car.
