Can you still get padded dash for a 60 Chevy Impala? If so, where?

Dear 60belair-- Volvo claims to be the first manufacturer to introduce a padded dash and the year was 1960. It was several years later before domestic manufacturers produced padded dashboards in any quantity, mainly because of a lack of consumer interest. A padded dashboard for your Belair would have to be a custom job and I suggest you do an Internet search at Google or Yahoo for a supplier. Good luck from Bovan.

The padded dash was a factory option on the '60 Impala... mine is no good either, and I've had no luck finding a replacement. Please let me know if someone is manufacturing these!

Yes, well just another case of Volvo flat-out lying. Domestic Fords cars had padded dashes as early as 1956 and they were common on luxury cars by 1959. Oh Volvo, what a tangled web we weave!
