I have a 69 Impala Custom (not SS) that has a 427 with auto. Is this a RARE car, or did they make many of them?

Hello, There were 768,300 1969 Impala V8's produced. Of these, I would estimate that under 20% were the 427's, though I am not absolutely sure. It wouldn't be as rare as the very limited production SS, but I would surmise that it is relatively rare. I hope this helps! CarGrrl

i also own one of those rare cars and am finding it tough to find info on them
not as rare as you may think,i like the bodystile myself but the car was not a big hit in 69 compairet to the 67-68 body style
Impalas were a popular car but with a 427 they were probably a little rare and not as produced as others. But ur car is only rare if it's the stock (numbers matching) 427... But what do I know, Im only 17 with a 64 Pontiac Parisienne numbers matching 283...
The '69 Impala with the 427 is rare. The 427 has around 390 hp and only 5,582 were ever made. The orig., they made around 18,300.. I think it's 18,308 to be exact but I'm not sure.
the costom, which he says IS NOT a SS,did not come with a big block.altho his car is rare it is not worth what a SS would be.427 or no if your car is in very good condition it would bring 2,500.00 to 3,00.00.
ive never seen a 69 with a 427 all i see is the tiny 283's in them, so im guessin its rare

The Custom Series 1969 Impala Coupe is very rare. They produced 279 Custom Coupe 427 cars in the USA and 16 in Canada. Chevy built nearly 10 times as many SS 427's using the same body style that only cost a couple of hundred dollars more than the plain Customs. Why buy a plain 427 when you can get the SS for a few bucks more. Many of the surviving 427 Custom Coupes have been cloned into SS cars. My father was a GM Exec ( Brass Hat) and had one of these cars as his demo in 1969. He felt slighted as it wasn't an SS. As a high schooler I quickly found out how fast it was. Real tire boiler.
Tommy6969 where did you find these numbers? I pulled one out of a junkyard and can not find much at all about it .
Hello I have found a true 69 427 convertible impala is it really rare or is it common. It is not an SS but it is numbers matching
