I have a 454. Looking to buy a 79 Monte to drop it into. Will the motor mounts line up?

Just checking to see if I need to do anything as far as the motor mounts or will it bolt right
up?

Because they never had a big block in that Gen Monte you will definately have to change motor mounts. Another thing to consider before doing this swap is what your going to do for a trans and differential, the stock 10 bolt will only last so long under the torque of a big block. Also you will need to decide what route your gonna go with the exhaust. If you wish to run headers you will need a set of custom ones that wrap around the steering stem.

Thanks for your response. I just found one nearby with no motor. Here's the add for it. I have a rust free, 1978 Monte Carlo T Top, Absolute rust free, has a rebuilt turbo 350, no engine, but is set up for a 350. The back two tires are brand new, the front two have about 50- 60% tread left, and all four weels are matching Corvette Ralleys. It has a brand new dual Flowies, exhaust, never been on an engine. Has a B&M Ratchet Shifter, front and rear clips are in the car with all the glass, and brand new gaskets for te T-Top. Comes with alternator, water pump, side mirriors.
