So I just bought a 84 Monte Carlo And the only gauges that work are the speedometer and the clock. Any ideas of what it could be or should I just buy A whole new dash

this car has the guage package? ie.. oil pres, voltage, coolant temp & tach? can be as simple as the circuit board contacts being dirty corroded. you will need to pull guage pod anyway to check.

are you handy? if yes then pull the guage cluster out and check the circuit board contacts . ill also advise to check and join www.montecarloss forum so you can do a search and find the solution(s) . its got a wealth of info and doesnt matter if its an SS or not . they all use the same setup. if no then you'll need to bring it to a shop and have it looked at.
