1970 Corvette LT1

Asked by porbridge Jan 31, 2008 at 11:52 PM about the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette

Question type: General

In 70, did the LT1 designation only stand for the engine, or was there a different suspension package included? Were certain options (ie. pwr steering, pwr windows, AC, etc) unavailable with the LT1 package?  Did certain options (ie. custom interior, M22 4 speed) come on every LT1?

The LT1 was only available with stick shift. It was the high performance small block it has 370hp rating for the 1970 model year. As for options there where many. But Im not sure if it was a set standard for the LT1?

The only thing I know that came with the Lt-1 engine was the M21 4-speed and the special hood with LT-1 graphics and stripes. A/C was not offered until 1972, nor was power-steering. There was a ZR-1 version which included a special racing suspension.
