Sorry to bother you again. I tried http:''www.idavette.net/facts/70.htm to run the vin number in order to determine if this 1970 corvette is an LT1. the vin #194370S401994, since it is older than 1980 it requires 17 digits to run through the system. any other ideas? Thanks Don

I am trying to decode the vin from a 1970 corvette LT1 I am considering purchasing, I am trying to verify this is a genuine LT1 and not a clone. The vin # is 194370S401994. 1 is the division (chevy) 9 is the series 4 is the model/engine number 37 is the body 0 is the year, S is assembly plant 401994 is the sequence number.
