1985 Chevy S10 won't crank over to engage clutch.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We've replaced the clutch switch. added a copper contact to the terminal under the one on the starter (which is shown in image) that turns over the engine. It responds when checked with a screwdriver to the power terminal - where is the problem if it isn't the starter or clutch switch?  Thank you for your advice

with little to go on, i would say you either have a defective solenoid or ignition switch. put a test light on the small wire on the solenoid and have someone turn the key to crank. light goes on, bad solenoid.
