F150 truck

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck has power steering and before I can start
driving it I have to push the gas pedal twice when
it's on to activate the power steering.  When I
began putting it on drive and turning the wheel the
power steering keeps shutting off, so I need to
keep placing the truck on Park and pressing the
gas to activate the power steering. Today I also
noticed the belt out of place so me and my partner
moved it some and fixed it to the correct position.
Is it possible that the belt is moving out of place
when it's on and messing with the power steering?
Answers to this issue is greatly appreciated.
Thanks ;)

Thanks, the belt that was off is the one closest to the radiator fan. Is that the power steering belt ? If I do have to change the Powe steering pump, do you know about how much it cost for part. I can possibly get my brother to change the pump If it's easy to replace . Thanks tennisshoes ;)

Ok sounds good, also what would cause the gear changes to be off, the gears are right on top of the steering wheel, when I want to place it on reverse it goes further to the Neultral gear and so on for the Drive gear is the same. Do I need a new steering wheel ? Thank you Tennisshoes ;)
