no fuel to pump

I have a 1984 ford f150 302 v8 changed the fuel pump a couple of times it ran  
for awhile now i get no fuel to the pump if I put hose in to a gas can it will start
hook everything back up nothing

Bad pump. You can still measure fuel pressure on a carburetor, it's just a lot lower like 6-8 instead of 40-60 psi.
